Staff at the Active Lifestyle Centre preparing meals for Take-Out Thursday

Something as simple as a ready-made meal can mean so much to someone living in isolation.

The Active Lifestyle Centre in Chatham is starting their Take-Out Thursday program where seniors and the general public can visit the Centre and purchase ready-made meals.

Executive Director Linda Lucas says the take-out program is one of the few ways the ALC can generate revenue during the pandemic, but it’s much more than that.

Lucas says for many seniors, picking up their meals on Thursdays is an outing for them, allowing them to get out of the house and socialize – in a safe, socially-distant manner – with friends they may not have seen in a long time.

You can learn more about the programs and services that the ALC is currently offering by visiting their website here, or by checking out their Facebook page.
