Our student nutrition program is an amazing program for all students. Our students can recharge with a healthy refreshing snack anytime during the school day. It's a good feeling feeding these kids healthy food, hearing them excited for food they never tried before or liked. Exposure to healthy food and amongst peers is a great opportunity to eat healthy. We've definitely seen the students increase in healthy eating! We serve mostly produce and limited packaged snacks. When fruit is in season locally we will serve apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries. We will freeze lots for winter baking and making smoothies. My own kids now like radishes, dragon fruit, mushrooms because of OSNP at Good Shepherd. It's like feeding a big family, we love these kids, if their having a bad day a favourite snack seems to light up their day! Popcorn days and Banana bread Mondays are everyone’s favourite! Smelling it throughout the school puts everyone in great mood! Healthy food healthy minds.
