Chatham-Kent is known for looking out for each other, finding new ways to pull together, and lifting each other up. In 2020, CK has raised the bar on community action and United Way Chatham-Kent wants to shine a light on the moments of connection and compassion happening locally. We are in the process of collecting a wide variety of stories featuring local individuals, groups, organizations and businesses who are making a positive impact in their neighbourhood and asking the community to share their inspiring stories during the Covid 19 pandemic.

"Since early March of this year there has been an incredible outpouring of efforts to help the Chatham-Kent community, both financially and in human capital," says Patricia Peters, Director of Resource Development with United Way of Chatham-Kent,  “but so many of these stories are not common knowledge. We want to celebrate people and give them an opportunity to share their incredible initiatives – which are happening right here, right now."

"I have been deeply moved by the support of our local partners." Says Steve Pratt, CEO of United Way of Chatham-Kent. "Chatham-Kent is a truly remarkable community, and I think businesses and organizations are ready to celebrate CK’s efforts so far. We know we’re not out of the pandemic woods, but as a community we are off to a great start thanks to the efforts of so many.  We want to share the local love in a tangible, yet safe way.”

United Way Chatham-Kent is inviting people from across Chatham-Kent to share their moving stories of making a difference during the Covid 19 pandemic. Whether it’s running errands for someone in need, or spreading kindness in your own unique way - We want to hear from you!
