When the Chatham-Kent Association of REALTORS(r) (CKAR) moved into the Chatham-Kent Nonprofit Centre (CKNC) at the end of 2019, plans were quickly underway for a member's housewarming party. But once CKAR had settled in to 425 McNaughton Ave West, alongside United Way of Chatham Kent, R.O.C.K. Missions, VON, Labour Council and others ... well, 2020 happened.

Fast forward two and a half very long years, and it was finally time throw that party. So on a beautiful June day, CKAR welcomed nearly 100 members for a BBQ and open house, with a chance to visit with colleagues and tour the CKAR's new(ish) home.

The event, which kicked off with opening remarks from Mayor Darrin Canniff, also celebrated the partnership between CKAR and United Way of Chatham-Kent, highlighting the work the organizations continue to do together on issues like homelessness and its root causes. The realtors also helped fill Van with a Plan full of food and donations for local programs.

Thank you to all who attended, donated, and stopped by to meet UWOCK staff. Definitely a day that was worth the wait!
