United Way of Chatham-Kent’s Mission is “to improve lives and build community in Chatham-Kent”. The organization achieves this mission by supportingnumerous agencies, programs and services that help one-in-three residents throughout Chatham-Kent. In addition to funding recipient charities, United Way of Chatham-Kent administers several internal programs that address issues within three focus areas – From Poverty to Possibility, Strong Communities and All That Kids Can Be. In Wallaceburg and surrounding area, 3,213 lives have been changed for the better because of support provided by United Way and its funded agencies, programs and services.
United Way of Chatham-Kent is a locally autonomous registered Canadian charitable organization and proud member of United Way Centraide Canada. Locally, the Wallaceburg Information & H.E.L.P. Centre, United Way’s North Chatham-Kent outreach office, has proven extremely valuable in identifying local priorities. The WIHC includes a Community Access Program (CAP) site and provides mediated information and referral services to those living in Wallaceburg, Dresden and surrounding areas.
