September 2015 will mark the 60th anniversary of Red Feather. To celebrate the occasion, a Red Feather Reunion is being planned for October 3, 2015.
The reunion event will be held at the former McKeough Public School, the current home of Blairs’ Boot Camp. It will feature a fashion throughout the decades show presented by Gentry Manor, tribute rooms with Red Feather memorabilia, and a ‘time warp’ dance in the school’s gymnasium.
“Many people in our community have very fond memories of high school and in particular Red Feather. The event has evolved over the years and has at one point included activities such as school spirit parades, football games, cheerleading competitions, talent shows, Animal House Olympics and a Miss United Way pageant. We want to commemorate this anniversary by reminiscing about Red Feather from the past six decades. It will be a high school reunion for all of Chatham-Kent” said Margery Muharrem, planning committee Chair.
We are asking the public to share any memorabilia or photos they may have from their high school years – old yearbooks, school spirit shirts, Miss United Way sashes etc. – to help us decorate.
Please save the date of this event. It is sure to be a blast from the past!
