Please join United Way staff and volunteers in congratulating Tom Slager on becoming a Canadian citizen on Tuesday, 2014 JUL 15!   Tom Slager joined the United Way Staff Team as Campaign Associate on Tuesday, 2014 JUN 03.

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tom relocated to Chatham-Kent eight years ago to begin a new life with wife Amy.  Together, they are parents to four young children.  Tom attended Calvin College in Michigan where he received his Bachelors Degree in History.  He subsequently received his teaching certification and spent a number of years teaching at- risk youth, primarily in grades 7 through 12.  This extensive experience was most beneficial in serving as a case manager for Goodwill Career Centre’s “Future Focus” Program.  Active in his community, Tom belongs to the Chatham Tennis Club and volunteers for Snow Angels, Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village and Goodfellows.

Tom’s campaign responsibilities include working with the volunteers in Blenheim, Ridgetown, Thamesville and Bothwell and assisting with the development of promotional materials for the annual fund-raising appeal.
